JOSÉ MARIA MARISCAL PANEQUE
José María Mariscal Paneque is a master ceramic artist renowned for his exquisite wheel-thrown porcelain and innovative work with crystalline glazes. Based in La Bisbal d’Empordà, a historic center for ceramics in Catalonia, Mariscal brings classical form and modern glaze chemistry together in a unique artistic language. His meticulously thrown vessels serve as elegant canvases for the stunning crystal formations he coaxes from his kilns—often using reduction techniques that push the boundaries of what’s possible in glaze development.
A passionate educator and glaze researcher, Mariscal shares his deep knowledge through international workshops, online courses, and specialized training, making him a leading figure in the crystalline ceramics community. His work is a celebration of precision, patience, and the alchemy of fire and form.
