Anja Meeusen is a Belgian ceramic artist celebrated for her exquisite porcelain creations under the label PTZE Porcelain. With over 30 years of experience, she specializes in handcrafting pieces from Limoges clay, known for its exceptional strength and translucency. Working from her studio in Westmalle, she crafts each piece with meticulous attention to detail, balancing minimalist elegance with functional beauty.
Anja’s dedication to excellence has led to international recognition, with her work featured in exhibitions such as Talente in Munich and the Carouge Biennale in Switzerland. Notably, she also creates commissioned pieces for the Belgian Royal Family, reflecting the high esteem in which her craftsmanship is held.

For over 30 years, PTZE has been creating series of functional tableware and interior pieces in Limoges porcelain — and at ClayZieFest, Anja will demonstrate the techniques that have defined her craft.
She’ll take you through the process of throwing porcelain with speed and cadence, showing how a certain rhythm can add subtle tension to a piece — a quality that remains visible even after firing.
Expect valuable insights into throwing thin yet durable walls, achieving just the right level of transparency while ensuring the work is practical for daily use (yes, even dishwasher-proof!).
Anja will also explore plates, bowls, and the nuances of creating elegant curves in porcelain — a very different challenge than with stoneware. You’ll see how she trims forms in series and learn the key practices to avoid when working with porcelain for consistent, high-quality results.
