Important Message from Moondobang

Hi everyone,
This is Moondobang.

I was really looking forward to joining ClayZieFest in Belgium
this August and meeting so many of you in person.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate this year.
Due to problems with both of my shoulders, I need to undergo surgery and take time to recover properly.

Because of this, I cannot travel or perform at the festival as planned.

I am truly sorry, and I know some of you were looking forward to the masterclass and demonstrations.
I was looking forward to them too.

I want to thank the ClayZieFest team for their understanding and support.

ClayZieFest will still be a very special event, full of clay, fire, artists, and community.
I hope you will enjoy it and support the festival.

I hope to recover well and meet you all in the future.

Thank you for your understanding, and warm greetings from Korea.

MOONDOBANG

Moondobang is a ceramics studio founded and led by Moon Byung-sik, a Korean artist renowned for his mastery of white porcelain (baekja). Based in Yeoju, a historic center of Korean pottery, Moon’s work is rooted in traditional techniques yet guided by a contemporary sensibility. His minimalist forms—ranging from moon jars to everyday vessels—embody both purity and quiet strength. While his early practice explored iron painting and surface decoration, he now focuses on the serene elegance of unadorned porcelain. Through international workshops and exhibitions across East Asia, Europe, and the United States, Moondobang continues to share the timeless beauty and philosophy of Korean ceramics with the world.
